Hi folks. Ive been using a Blue Crystal for last couple of shaves ('64 flair tip) and I was wondering if the Reds are more aggressive? The Blue is very forgiving but I dont seem to get a very close shave with it.

Red Crystal? Blue Crystal? There are Crystals (in a white slide out dispenser with white and blue paper wrappers), Israeli Personnas (in the red package) and Personna Labs (in the blue box). Which blades are you curious about?

Mine is a white dispensor with blue paper. Ten blades made in Israel. Oh and it says Crystal on the package....

Those are Crystals. The Israeli Personnas (Red pack) are believed to be made in the same plant and may be the same blades.

I added links in my previous post for the two kinds.
The Crystals in the red package are Platinum Chrome blades. Those are believed to be the same blades as the Israeli Personnas, which are made in Israel but packaged in Mexico. The Crystals in the black package, according to the eBay auction, are Chromium Nitride. I don't know anything about CrN coatings.

Yeah the ones on ebay are the only ones ive seen in that package and its where I got mine. As I said I dont get a very close shave with them in my flair tip, perhaps I will try one in my OC Tech and see how i like it. I will order some red ones in my next WCS order and see what I think. Thanks for talking with me.
Ah. I too was confused. The blades knows as Personna Reds are different from Crystals and come in a "much redder" box than the one you are showing.

Yes, so many different Personnas. I saw some the other day at Dollar General that were in the same dispensor as the Walgreens Personna but said made in Korea on the back. Then a food chain we have here in Iowa, Hy-Vee, had some in the same type dispensor and all it says is made for Hy-Vee. 
Dorco uses the same type dispenser.

Thank you. It seems there is no end to the variations in packaging. For what its worth the ones I have say Super Platinum on the blade itself. As I said I do not see them, at least in this package, other than on ebay. I wouldnt intentionally buy more of them as I do not like the shave I get with them. I like the Personna Labs pretty well and maybe I will get a few IP's to try.
