Cream consistancy conundrum

I've just got some TOBS rose and some Trumpers lime delivered, both in tubs. I use a stab and twist method with my brush then lather in a seperate bowl. The Trumpers works perfectly but the TOBS is a much harder cream and I'm struggling to load my brush properly. Is there any way to soften the TOBS or do I need a different technique for loading my brush? Thanks in advance.

I have yet to try TOBS Rose, but I have several other scents. I've found the consistency to be the same on them all (except for avocado). I've gotten into the habit of looking at the brush after loading it (prior to sticking it in the lather bowl). With time, you get a sense of what it *should* look like, then if you need more, do an extra dip.

+1. Try a few different things until everything looks just right. Perhaps an extra stab and twist is necessary, or maybe you have enough product (with it being a little denser) and just need to get the right amount of water.

+2 cant give better advice then above:wink:

I find that I need only a thin quarter sized patch of TOBS rose to get 2 to 3 passes worth of lather. I use more of a swipe method to load the brush.

I get the lather bowl and brush pretty try, and lather for about 15 swirls, add a few more drops of water, and then swirl some more.

It is possible you may have bad batch of the product. TOBS have had some quality control issues in the past with their creams. Which is why I have it rated lower then trufitt and trumpers. Its like some people want Simpsons brushes made before Vulfix took over, which I don't understand. I have read archived posts, sites, and reviews that infuriated people who bought preVulfix brushes that fell apart within months of buying a 200 dollar brush. It may be because they were made with two banded badger hair. I believe on a popular website is selling two banded Brushes right now that were recently made by Vufix/Simpsons on some Simpsons popular lines in Super Badger.

It could well be that the product is affected by heat (or cold) during shipping. I have bought tubs of the same cream using different sources and noticed different density.

I bought 4 tubs of tobs cream at once. Each had a slightly different consistancy. No problem. I dip and twist, just some of them need more dipping and twisting than others.

You can always stir it...I did that with all my TOBS, and afterwards they are smoothe and lump-free, but slightly runny. Give it a week or two, and it'll firm back up, but not to its previous "hard" state.

This is true with TOBS definitely. The first tub I ever bought was lavender, and it was practically a liquid. It still lathered great though!
