Colonel Conk...Impressed

A month or so ago, maybe more, I decided to use the "Samples Request Emails" page to contact a bunch of sellers about getting some samples to try out. I only got emails back from a few places, and about half told me that they wouldn't send me samples for one reason or another. Never heard back from Colonel Conk...'til yesterday. Yesterday was a smorgasbord of shave gear for me . Got a tube of PIF'd Godrej, a J Wiss & Sons straight razor, and a bunch of stuff from Colonel Ichabod that was totally unexpected. More samples than any other place sent me anyway. They gave me about a quarter oz of each of their soaps (lime, almond, bay rum, amber) and one each of their aftershave (almond balm, the rest splashes). Guess I'm going to need to do a week of the Colonel!

It's nice when a company's level of service speaks for itself. I am a fan of the Conk, particularly the almond soap. Have fun sampling your samples :)

After the Bearcats game I am going to go try Col. Conk for the first time. Picked up the lime and bay rum earlier today and going to try lime first.

I agree, and thank you, I will!
Where did you make this request?

You can either go to "Shopping and deals" forum and click on the "Sample Request" thread or just click here. :001_smile The mods, as well as I, stress that this thread shouldn't be used just to get free stuff, but to try out things you otherwise might not buy because of the restrictions of price and how long full sized products can last. It is a useful tool, though, and some companies have already seen a return from me buying their stuff!

Cheers!

I just got the Almond and Lime pucks in the mail the other day. The Almond is great and I can't wait to try the lime.

The lime was the first soap that I ever used.... It was enough to fully convert me to wetshaving with a DE....

However,,, I have tried a few other soaps since then,,, and the Conk's now sits unused.... Not abandoned,,, but I think I'll be using some of my newer soaps for a bit before I get the urge to use the Conk's again....

Don't get me wrong,,, their soaps are great (especially for the price),, but there's lots of better stuff out there in my humble opinion...

They make a great starting point,, though....

You'll forget how impressed you are with them when you use their product!

It's a great soap. I have art or shaving and eshave stuff. But I always go back to col conk just because it's so cheap n pretty much as good IMHO

I want to not like the kitschy brand and old-timey presentation of the products ... if I'm feeling elitist, I may even want to turn my nose up at a $5 puck of soap that isn't triple milled in France. However every time I lather some up, I'm impressed. It's fabulous stuff. Colonel Conk offers outstanding products, and their stock has gone up even higher since I read about their willingness to provide samples.
