Cold Water Shaving

I have been using hot water to shave with proraso a new blade each shave either a wilkinson or a Gillette 7 O Clock or Feather.

How do I shave using cold water?

For what it's worth, here is the way I do it:
1) Wash face with H/W, rinse with C/W
2) Keep face hydrated with C/W, make lather with C/W(this was counter intuitive to me, but Proraso just explodes into lather whatever temp water I use)
3) A normal 3-pass shave rinsing with C/W after each pass
4) Rinse with H/W to sterilize and open pores, then a final C/W rinse to close pores.
5) This is optional, but I love it: Rub an ice cube over your face, dry and splash on some heavily mentholated aftershave!

The theory is, if I recall, that H/W, in softening the beard, makes it more elastic and actually harder to cut, whereas C/W closes the pore around the hair and supports it so it stands up straight and is easier cut. Works for me!

I find that slightly warm to room temp water works best for me, with hydration of beard for at least 2.5-3 minutes.

The same way you shave with warm/hot water.

For me it's soak the brush in cold water, liberally massage in cold water into my whiskers, make lather and shave.

There seems to be lots of variations. One is to make cold lather but rinse the razor with hot water.

Try them all, you might find one you like. The cold razor in winter is a turn off for me, but some people find less skin irritation with cold water.
