Clinique - Worth the money?

Remember every year in FHM Magazines "Grooming Awards" that Clinique used to always win the "Best Grooming Range" ahead of Nivea.

Anyone here use their stuff? Any good?

I've used the Clinique aftershave (before my DE conversion) and Nivea aftershave. I really like Nivea more. It's a third of the cost, and Nivea is much more moisturizing. Clinique claimed to moisturize and reduce irritation, razor burn, etc., but I never found it to be that helpful. Nivea feels better and is less expensive. Edge: Nivea.

The Clinique for Men's regular liquid face wash was good . . . but pricey. Their Post-Shave Healer is excellent . . . but pricey. I haven't liked the Nivea equivalents as much.

I only know about the ladies products. I used them solidly for about 9 months trying to improve my skin and it was the biggest waste of money ever. No improvement and no better than regularly priced stuff.

I've used Clinique for Men in the past when shaving with carts. The shave gel wasn't too bad, though perhaps not so much better that justified the price. The Post Shave Healer wasn't particularly impressive. I couldn't recommend the range.

I hate to be the one to break the news, but generally speaking, the company that pays the most in advertising revenues to the magazine wins the contest.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

Yes! This is why you should always avoid magazine reviews of any kind! Read the forums, baby! Get your info from actual users...

I have used all the products.

Gel and creme are ok, but I think there are alternatives that are much less and much better.

I use the post shave healer in the winter if I am really in need of some non-greasy moisture/balm.

The scrub rocks. The tube face soap is good, I use it if I am feeling greasy.

The face soap with witch hazel is slightly better than ok, but I don't need to use it much now that I shave with soap. The womens product is the same, and cheaper.

The Clinique products are generally just fine. But you can get as good or better for a lot less money. Somebody has to pay for Clinique's advertising budget, but it doesn't have to be you ...

I would recommend the face wash (extra strength), the "M Gel-lotion" (not "M lotion") as well as the scrub, which is surely the best face scrub on the market (I sh*t you not).

No one's lying. The face scrub is amazing; best ratio of soapiness to scrubbiness. I found their bar face soap much better than the liquid as well. The bar lasts months.

The face soap is the best out there to clean and not left dry...but L'Oreal has the same (if not better) quality in Aftershaves, Face lotions and Shaving cream for a fraction of the cost. Just my opinion. btw: nothing beats Nivea aftershave balm in cost/benefit.

+1

Except maybe Neutrogena. It's pretty good too.

BTW, I have one Nivea and love it.
