Once upon a time I bought the lowest model Feather AC and a pack of pros. Sold it before I even used it once, deciding I wanted to get into real straights. I got a new job, got too busy to learn to maintain them, stuck with my DEs and nothing wrong with that. I was looking up disposable straights the other day and an article stated that obviously, none of them really shave like a straight and the closest to it are Feather's AC system, Kai, and CJB. (SS wasn't mentioned but I know it exists) So I was curious as to the price point of the Kai and CJB and did some GoogleFu. Saw a CJB on the bay for $35 and picked it up. I've seen people slap some really cool folding scales on theirs and that's pretty dang sweet too. It's not awful to look at for sure.
The shave: Wow, I was intimidated but for no reason at all. I had Feather Pro blades in that sucker, took my time and did a two pass shave. Pretty dang nice if I do say so myself. Only time I nicked myself...and it was small...was when I got cocky at the end of my 2nd pass. No biggie. I'm impressed, for $35 it does what I want it to do, blades are easy to come by and I can buy another to customize or something.
