Chippewa Boots (American vs. Import editions)

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Chippewa boots and especially with the American ones versus the imported ones. The American version runs about $100 more and was curious if it was worth it or if the quality of the chippewa boots is fairly consistent throughout. I know there is going to be some drop off but if the import version lasts say 4 years vs the american lasting 5 years I won't mind saving a bit of change to maybe through into my shave and newly founded pipe jar.

Thanks as always to anyone who provides input.

I've never owned any Chippewa boots, but as with anything, the American-made version will most likely be of much higher quality.

I pulled the trigger and have been wearing the 8" vibram soled work boots for work everyday. Using Kiwi leather conditioner, I had them broken in in three days. They are just what I was looking for.

Mine do not have any insulation or padding, they are very utilitarian. I live in Texas and do not need or want anything to keep my feet warm.

IMHO they are the right balance between quality and price.
