Cheapie flex.no such thing?

So, I've seen several threads on the three Noodlers flex pens (affordable but messy/frustrating) and then other threads involving money on the order of 150-250 bucks. Is there nothing out there otherwise to fill my jonesin' for some flexin' ?

I've got several flex nib pens, but they're all vintage ebay or flea market finds. I haven't paid more than $20 for each, but it's a crap shoot as to what you get and you need to be ready to do some basic restoration work.

Thanks. Strange...seems like its a niche that surely someone could fill. Price point of 49.99 and not be "full manual" like the Noodlers.

If you have any pens with a #5 nib you could always order replacement nibs from Fountain Pen Revolution. Kevin offers semi-flex nibs very much like what Nathan offers in his pens but only in #5.

I played with one of those once, And it has some give to the nib, but if you want a real flex nib, the FPR nibs are very far from it, my Pelikan M200 has more give to it I think...

Compared to a dip pen, or a proper fountain pen, it has no where near the flex those can pull off

Agreed. But for a fountain pen at the price point desired, a semi-flex nib is as good as one can get.

The Dilli has me flummoxed. I have a few, some work nicely while others not so much. Also, some of the QC is a bit uneven. I do like the nibs though.

I have to agree with the vintage pens, they can't be beat for flex per dollar. I've picked up broken ring-top ebonite Waterman Ideal pens for cheap and harvested the gold nibs for flex projects. The flex is rather hit and miss though unless you have the pen in your hand -- that's where going to a pen show is invaluable.
