cheap kent shaving brush

on monday i picked up a cheap kent shaving brush from tk max(a shop that sells discounted/old stock in uk), now this brush was only £3, but after 3 days of use its a goner, the brush was barely broken in, its kind of sad a top brand like kent would put their name on garbage like this.View attachment 299019 $razor 2 033.jpg

I traded my Kent VS70 on the BST to a fellow B&B'er, it was sold as "shedds like a trooper" but apparently was better than the one he'd got at that time. As for TK Max I notives my local one were doing a 'KENT STARTER' pack for £12. Consistinting of Black handle boar brush, shave cream, Brush stand and comb. Even with a crap brush at £12 thats not a bad deal. Stands are around £5, branded cream around £4 and a branded comb around £3 so thats £12 on it's own. As for your brush think positive, you now have a vintage (as it's used) kent genuine wooden handle. You could E-bay it with the banner "just needs re-knotting". :biggrin1:

I'm not sure but I don't think Kent would market such a brush. I'd also vote that its a really cheap knockoff. Other than the B/S/T here at B&B, I's deal with Kent themselves or one of the vendors here on site.

i seen the kent starter packs when i got the brush, they are good value for a couple of the things in it alone, i think tk max must have got a few reject brushes from kent, i have seen tubs of tobs shave cream in there before for £5 so they get a few things from differant shaving companys, to be fair celestino i did use it twice.

Just got the VS70 off of Amazon. Did a palm lathering to start the break in going and lost aboit a dozen hairs. Used it again in the morning. Lost about 3 hairs. This brush is really packed so I expect a loss for may 3-4 more times then it should settle down.

my first thought was a knockoff. perhaps you can contact Kent and they can verify that is or isn't an original brush from them. they would probably send you a new one if it was from them.

i think the shop i got this brush from had got a hold of some reject stock, it does not put me off kent brushes, i have a h12 brush and a kent synthetic on the way, the old kent handle i am going to fit another knot from a brush thats handle split, at least it will be of some use.

well thats the snide kent brush gota new knot,i have got a few old brush handles lying around,i may do a few more after this one, this one seems to have turned out all right.$razor 2 132.jpg$razor 2 133.jpg
