chasing hero

soo..I have been spending my time trying to snag 1 hero on the bay,
for some reason they only seem to sell them in lots of 3 or 10 and the rare single ones keep slipping thru my fingers.
but i am having fun and its letting me spend guilt free time on the bay

This could possibly be time you will enjoy more than time spent after you get the pen. Just sayin'.

Buy three and give two away. They are not very pricey. Or keep one at home, one at work, one for spare parts when the first two go wrong.

:biggrin1:

I know their reputation, but I think these might have been what i used when I was a kid, they feel very very familiar, will know when i get my hands on them.
right after i posted I did go ahead and do just that, bought 3.

That's the spirit vreddy... we'll know you need an intervention when you start buying mont blancs in three packs

I don't really understand people's hatred towards them. Must've gotten lucky, because there were zero duds in the ten pack I bought when I first got into fountain pens a good while back. They all lie around the house, inked up and ready to go in case I need to jot something down quickly. The nibs are fairly wet and they seem to start right up every time. Sure, they have little to no character, provide little writing pleasure and are nowhere close to being my favorite pen(s). But, they're cheap as chips and are certainly miles ahead of throwaway ballpoints/rollerballs.

For the price, you can't really fault them for what they are.

I had the 2 51 clones and the Victorian. I stupidly left my Victorian before I left Korea, but I had 0 problems with any of them. I got them from Hisnibs and have no bad things to say about the service or price from him.

I dont mind heros, but the cat won't let me have them anymore.
Not after last time when the converter exploded...

But seriously the hero I had was coming apart all over the place and didnt have a very nice nib compared to my other pens
But there are high and low end heros and i had a low end one

I bought a three pack of 616 Jumbos a few years ago. They all worked fine, for what they cost. I used them at work in case they got stolen, and I actually thought they all had. But I was looking for something else the other day, and I found one of them. It's sitting in my desk draw now taunting me into filling it...

Of course the thing that stops me is the half a dozen Parker 51's + Vacs + whatever else is in the same draw, which I would rather be writing with. But still the cheapy says "try me, try me... I worked well... scratchy nibs are nice..."

Ah Heck. I'm gonna go flush the old ink out. Just because.
