Cased Auto Strop

My dad found me a cased auto strop and brought it home for me (he knows of my facination with shaving). It looks super cool, does anyone know where I can read about how this thing is used?

Yes. Dave is the Autostrop expert.

But it is not so easy to get a smooth shave from one. Getting the blades sharp enough is the problem unless you can modify a modern blade.

Did it come with the strop?

Yah, it did come up with a strop, im excited to get home and clean it up. I'll post pictures later!

I have been told by a friend in Germany, who is an autostrop fan, that the makers of Feather blades make a brand new replacement blade called "Hane" especially for autostrop razors. They ain't cheap, but he says they last a heckuva long time. There is also a company in the UK that makes brand new strops. Google is your friend.

Just sold mine but i had decent shaves with the modified blade option and there still some original blades which come up on the bay for these.
