Carnival of Smiles consideration - Does your job match charity contributions?

Hi all,
This Carnival of smiles is such a cool thing. I think this is the best online community that I have belonged to in my almost 15 years of interneting.

Something that crossed my mind as I was reading up on the Carnival was that the company I work for will MATCH CONTRIBUTIONS to 501(c) charities!

Money is tight for a lot of us. But, my company will match dollar for dollar anything I contribute to charity (up to a point). Others of you that work at corporations can double your contributions!

When I arrive at work Monday morning the first thing I'm going to do will be to go to the internal HR site of my company to get details on how to donate and get it matched.

Does your company match?

Jerry

P.S. From http://www.operationsmile.org/about-us/accreditation/
"Operation Kids is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to serve the needs of the Whole Child…"

Luckily, Operation Smile was on my company list of approved charities and no extra leg work had to be done (other than submitting my forms). Contribution now doubled. BAM!!!

Since I teach in a public school, there will be no matching contribution from my employer...we have a hard enough time paying for supplies and facilities, as it is.

This does seem like a great charity, though...I plan to contribute a bit soon.

Fantastic! Good karma there Saxmoore.

For those who don't know, Saxmoore was the winner of today"s lunchtime contest and won the Blue Baxter shaving brush from Baxter of California.

Thanks for the extra effort. :thumbup1:
