What's new

cardboard blade and tag = unused ?

The Clog-pruf being one of my favorite, I recently got a cased one with tag and cardboard blades and paperwork on ebay.
I did break my own rule of not bidding on auctions where the photos are not crystal clear, on that auction the seller definitely posted overly saturated photos...
It also had the instructions (pretty good shape) and blade bank, the seller said all were seemed to be there but with 4 left there, at least one was taken.
The razor has a some discoloration and staining, but it could have been stored in a damp attic for 70 years in which case all bets are off of course.
The stains did not come off with MAAS though which is a bit disappointing.

What do you think?

I've got an, I'm pretty sure un-used, OCMM with similar wear patterns, my theory is that it bounced around, in its original box, in a junk drawer for decades.

Missing single edge blades is understandable because they so useful for other things.

the punchline was " It doesn't appear to have ever been used"
here are the photos form the auction:

The razor is in a good shape. I got it because I like the CP line and I was looking one without scratches and nicks that I might send to get replated.
I was not surprised at the shape because the photos were more or less in line (though on the optimistic side, IMO).
The case is in pretty good shape as well.

Take this for what it's worth as it is my humble opinion. Your razor may or may not be used. I have a clogpruf that I fully believe was never used however the cardboard insert in it was different than the cardboard in my other gems. Specifically, it had a V shaped notch that when u opened the head, u could see the V opening in the baseplate of the clogpruf model. Only the two side pieces came down to the blade rest to show you where they were. I am not saying they were all like this as we all know how much razor manufactures like to use up all there old product when switching lines. It's just my thoughts. Still, congrats on a great razor. Here is a pic of my insert.
