This morning's craponderful shave:

Pre-shave: Neutrogena Hydro Boost
Brush: RR 400 matte Plissoft
Cream: Gillette Foamy
Razor: RR Lupo 95
Blade: Double-wrapped Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Number of passes: 2, XTG
Touchups or buffs: yes
Aftershave: Old Spice and Nivea Sensitive balm
Sting: No
Result: DFS (stubble ATG on neck)

Another Zen shave this morning courtesy of my favorite razor and the assist from canned goo. I even did some touchup work on my neck, which I haven't been doing with soaps lately because I was always on the edge of irritation after only two passes. My neck has the toughest hair in the most directions (while also lying flat against the skin) and the most sensitive skin that is prone to burn and irritation. Today's shave was without a single incident. Lovely shave and great way to start the day.

The Perma-Sharp is continuing to do a craptastic job. Smooth and comfortable as well as quite acceptable close. Cap riding allowed for an irritation free shave with no alum block feed back.

Blood pressure in my CRAPillars was higher because of excitement when new toy arrived !

I have quite some time watched how some secret agents
:a41:
of DSC have done their nasty enabling campaign. Simple man like me was a easy pray for them.

So today was the day when arrived V92 scalloped head and I ordered matching brass handle from Yaqi. Both of pieces are marvelous tools. Everything is perfect, both head and handle. I like the feel of brass much more than SS.

I hade first shave (head shave) with newcomer. Had a stellar two pass BBS shave.
Very similar feeling to S9. No wonder - gap difference is small - 0.86 vs 0.92.

Have a nice day !

This morning's crapola of a shave:

Pre-shave: Neutrogena Hydro Boost
Brush: RR 400 matte Plissoft
Cream: Gillette Foamy
Razor: RR Lupo 95
Blade: Derby Premium (1)
Number of passes: 2, XTG
Touchups or buffs: yes
Aftershave: Old Spice and Nivea Sensitive balm
Sting: yes, very minor from additional touch up work
Result: DFS (stubble ATG on neck)

Really nice shave this morning. I used a Derby Premium for the first time ever. After being disappointed in the Derby Extra, I tried to have an open mind going into the shave with the Premium, but I admit I wasn't expecting much. However, the blade seems quite excellent. It sliced through my whiskers without issue. In fact, it didn't seem any less sharp than the GSB I used yesterday. If anything, it may have been a hint sharper. I did some extra touch up work today that brought some very minor sting, so I can't make a sound conclusion on how smooth the Derby Premium is yet. I think it is quite smooth, though, and I'll confirm tomorrow by not making touch ups. I'm not ready to push the button to buy 100 yet, but they definitely have caught my attention.

Today’s un’crapping’believable shave was delivered by the Rocket HD 500 and the 5 shaver Perma-Sharp. Just a fantastic shave today. The Perma-Sharp has earned a spot right beside the GSB as my best blades. Not a surprise really as both are made on the now shuttered PPI plant in St Pete. More details in the link.

Had the absolutely CRAPiest of all shaves today, Persona "Lab Blue" (2) and the Karve Goatlander (brass). Co-stars were Grooming Dept pre-shave (Rainforest), Muhle STF and Grooming Dept Earl Grey Gelato (Mallard).

I'll attribute this BBS+ to that last tiny tilt of the razor head, bordering on over-the-top.

CRAP ON!

This morning's crap shave:

Pre-shave: Neutrogena Hydro Boost
Brush: RR 400 matte Plissoft
Cream: Gillette Foamy
Razor: RR Lupo 95
Blade: Derby Premium (2)
Number of passes: 2, XTG
Touchups or buffs: no
Aftershave: Old Spice and Nivea Sensitive balm
Sting: yes, slight
Result: DFS (stubble ATG on neck)

I had my second shave with the Derby Premium this morning, and this is a blade I won't be buying 100 more. I won't even give it a third shave. The blade has adequate sharpness, but it is very rough. It has a poor skin feel and gives me some aftershave sting and some slight lingering post-shave irritation. I only performed my standard two-pass shave, without any touchups or buffs, to minimize any skin issues. It's a bit of a strange blade. It feels very sharp on my face and it cuts the whiskers without resistance. However, the stubble on my face is longer than other blades give me. It's definitely a sharp blade, but it's uncontrolled sharpness due to its roughness. It's almost like the Derby engineers were sick of hearing how dull their Extra was and then said, "We'll show them! Take this Premium blade!," but then forgot to add any smoothness to it.

Same for me. I thought I was the only one. It cuts, but I found the blade harsh, scratchy.

I prefer the extra to the premium, despite not being the sharpest one.

In fact I used it today on my GC 84, trying to figure this damn razor out.

I had a nice shave, but that doesn’t mean a lot. Consistency is the goal and I’ve yet to achieve it with the GC.

Good morning my fellow crap talkers. Today’s shave was the first one on the Euromax, a throw in purchase with one of my YourShaving orders. Much like @Jay21 experience with the Derby, this one gave me more blade feel and almost tugging. My left side is more susceptible to blade feel, and this one was felt on the left side even with riding the crap out of the cap. No pain but it was felt but we shall see how shave number two goes.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. The Extra is pretty smooth, but tuggy on my thick and coarse hair. Maybe I need to try them again.

The only razor I think they are quite good is the GC. I don’t know why. And it’s not because of the aggressiveness, they suck in my R41.

But the extra seems to transform the GC for me into something enjoyable. (Jury still out)

It didn’t tug, it felt soft, mellow.

Bottom line, they have their place with the right razor.
