Can someone please provide me with the bare-bottom basics for this camera that will allow me to take decent enough pics for B&B? It's got so much on it and appears to be way outside of my level of expertise in digital photography, which is close to zero anyway, that I just can't figure it out. My pictures are just crap--blurry, way too bright, out of focus, etc. If someone could just direct me to a way to produce clear and distinct pics I'd be grateful. Getting a little frustrated at this point. Thanks.

Don't despair. I have several cameras, but every pic I've posted here was taken with an A540.
Set it to 640x480. That's a perfect size for pics on this site. The auto setting should suffice for most applications. It's getting warm, so try taking your shots outside. Just play around with it and you'll get there.
