Canned goop with Excel gives effortless shave in stead of soap and Excel

Hi guys,

I noticed that i get an effortless bbs shave with Gillette canned goopn but that i have to try pretty hard to accomplish this with a normal soap like MWF, Tabac or Proraso. Why is that! It seems to me that the extra glide provided by the Gillette results in this easier bbs shave! What's your opinion on this?

Am gonna try a Muehle R89 soon!

I've actually found the opposite to be true. I get better shaves from cartridges if I use a good soap or cream in place of canned gels or foams. I guess this may be a YMMV issue.
