Can you Help identify this painting

It is about 12 inches by 24 inches, oil on canvas of a Paris street scene. It is signed Tissot but I believe it to be a copy.

J J Tissot is quite famous, but this signature looks more like H Tissot

I am about 99% sure you can rule out James Tissot, as the the paintings style and content does not fall within his known works. The painting shown is much too impressionistic in style to be one of his works, and further, he was definitely not known as a painter of "Paris street scenes."

Examine the back of the canvas and frame closely and see if you can find any clues...title, dealer inventory marks or sticker, etc. There might be something that provides a clue.

I would agree that the work does not look like typical Tissot, and from what I can tell, the signature is different. There are no clues on the back, the canvas is nailed to the frame, unlike today where staples are used. The frame appears newer, and has the frame companys logo and address (Illinois). I am no art expert, but the painting looks older, but not over 100 years old.

I believe this is Andre Gisson,found one on the "bay" that looks alot like this one. put a link in another post.
