Calligraphy Guide PIF

$20130113_124201.jpg

So as you can see I bought myself a bigger book, as I want to get all serious about this here calligraphy stuff

but these means my old book is now no longer needed, its not a huge book but it is certainly enough to get someone interested going, Beyong the gothic hand it also shows, Unical, Roman serif, Chancery Italic, and something they call Sheaffer Script

There is tips and tricks and examples of what you can do as you get better

Ill run this untill i get out of bed tomorrow, will be just a random selection by me on this one, as i stressed the begezus out of myself not doing that last time, if your in all you need to do

Post why you would like a calligraphy starter book, and say "In Please" worldwide i guess since i can envelope this like a letter

see you around the Nib

James

In Please.

I've actually just gotten a calligraphy pen & have been trying it out with some simple things I've found online & would love to have an actual book! Maybe by next year, my calligraphy will be good enough to go into a card or letter!

Very cool James, " in please" The only script I have tried is your pic of the Gothic, in your thread. May as well see what else is in there :)

Dip pens have more options for this kind of thing... watching some videos the pilot parallels seem to be the only pen that could really work... them and some mitchell nibs with a nib resivoir is going to come my way in my next purchase along with some paper

Not much flourish in this book Nos but it is an easy start to block lettering styles, it will put some core techniques you can use to do all kinds of crazy things... it was enough to have me out grow my sheaffer pens, which I guess once I get my dip pens nibs and other things I won't need them.... so I guess ill toss in the 1.3 nib pen for those that need a starting point... but I sent all my carts to Lamar in his box so you'll need some carts or a blunt syringe to refill this one with bottled ink

In please. I have taken quite an interest in calligraphy and penmanship since discovering the nib. A book would be a great alternative to sitting at a computer trying to learn. I was just practicing tonight with some more new leonardt dip pen nibs the GF just gave me today. You don't happen to be ebay member luvshavin do you syngent?

In please, since your first post about it I have had an interest in calligraphy. I was thinking about using part of my gift card for Chapters to pick up a book but if I win this maybe I will use it for another on of my other ADs I've picked up.

Cheers

Lol this book is what sent me to chapters today to get the big book.... this booklet thing should have been titled Enable within

+1 Either way tomorrow there is a chance I may spend most of my breaks looking for a place in Edmonton that sells quality pens for calligraphy... and regular writing, and some other inks, and some more sturdy parchment and envelopes. Damn these amazing ADs of mine! At least my RAD and PAD are under control since I blocked ebay :p
