The fall season marks the return of one of the most anticipated bourbon collections, the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection ($70 each). Again this year, there are five limited-release whiskeys of various ages, recipes and proofs to drool over and covet. Eagle Rare 17, George T. Stagg, Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, and William Larue Weller are all unique, delicious, and very limited. It's a group of spirits that collectors and connoisseurs are thirsting for.

I was able to try 2 of these while away earlier this month on business in Kansas City...I treated my self for my birthday (since I was away from my family on my birthday).

All I can say is wow!

I tried the Weller and the Sazerac, if only I could find a supply here at home....worth every penny! and for the price, more than every penny!

I've tried the Handy and the Weller and they are hands down some of the best rye and bourbon I have tasted. I have never been able to secure all 5 bottles from a single year but spanning several years, I actually have a full set. To me I consider these a special occasion drink - not so much for the price but due to their rarity.
