Buffalo Tallow Soap

Just arrived via friends in Wyoming - I've never heard of this one before.
Will try it later tonight I think.

The olive oil really makes me curious about it being a shaving soap or not. I've never herd good things about olive oil and soap lathering.

I have no idea how it was being sold - came as a gift from my GF's parents.
Her parents know I'm into wet-shaving, they bought me a straight last year and ADP croap for xmas.
But - they may have thought it was shave soap because it was round, when it's a bath soap. Just don't know.
I do know they thought is was shaving soap - didn't ask why. It's a gift, not gonna interrogate them over soap ya know?

The Buffalo Tallow thing was interesting at any rate.

I lathered it, shaved with it - had a great shave with my 38C Merkur.
Lather was very slick, not so super thick until I really loaded the brush - I used a Simpsons Rover.
When I put more time on the puck the lather came up nicely.

Had a fragrance similar to Lightfoots Pine soap, but more subtle. Longer lasting too.
Very very slick stuff - incredibly so. Crazy glide on all 3 passes.
I usually use a straight and I don't think this stuff has enough cushion for me but I may give it a spin.
It did seem to not produce 'that' density I prefer but the shave was good so I guess it was good enough.

Interesting experiment - nice outdoorsy fragrance, good performance. While not quite on par with my usual soaps, it was quite a fine shave.
