Tabac stick problem

I'm a big fan of this product, but I just encountered a problem. I can't get the soap stick to move up in the container. I've tried pushing up from the bottom panel and also pushing down from the top to get it loose. But no go. What am i missing? In case it matters, my stick is the newer, non-tallow version.

The stick is stuck and you need to unstick it to get it unstuck.

Translation: Push harder. The soap is simply stuck to the tube.

But seriously, folks. As silly as it sounds, the soap stick won't move no matter how hard I press or bang on the bottom plastic panel. I've also tried pressing the top surface of the soap, but it won't retract either. Did I assemble the container wrong?

Wait for it to dry out a bit. Then push harder.

In that case, throw in in the freezer overnight to shrink a little. In the morning, run the container under hot (not boiling) water to expand the plastic and try to push it again.

As an alternative, if you have a small piece of wood or something that fits up into the bottom, put it there and knock/bang/(slam?) the container down onto a hard and stable surface like a cement floor, not your counter top. Wifey would not like the latter.

That happen to me once with Nivea soap stick.

I left the stick in the freezer with the top off and then held the plastic tube sideways under running hot water from the faucet for about 10 seconds. IT WORKED! The frozen soap stick popped right out. All I have to do now is let the stick thaw, be sure the surfaces are dry, and put the stick back in the tube.

Follow-up: All is well in Tabac stick land. BUT—The stick is very tight in the sleeve. So I’m going to put the stick back in the freezer without the tube for a few days to see if it dries out and has shrinkage. I’ll report back.

Try using a grater or carrot peeler to reduce the diameter a little. It's shouldn't take much trimming to free it up.
