What's new

Brush number 2

Ok, had a couple hours this morning, so I figured what the heck!
Here is the fruit of my folly.

TGN Silvertip 24 mm knot

Vintage piece of Honeyroll Buffalo Horn

Mokume butt cap, with center mosaic pin.

If this keeps up, I might have to invest in a lathe!

I gave it a 2 minute soak in warm water, and it bloomed to more than double its original diameter. it is near 70 mm wide at the moment.

Thanks for looking, let me know if you see any thing I need to change.

Change? No, you nailed it. A+

Base caps are excellent for horn handles and standard designs alike. I have used them on many of my brushes. It adds a touch of class and contrast to the handle.

Excellent work!

Nice job. I think it's amazing that you are able to do this without a lathe. This one and your first look really great. What did you use for finish?

The finish is a buff with white diamond compound, as for the lathe, I modified a drill press, and shaped it with rasps, files, and sandpaper.
