Brush for Soaps

I have been wet shaving for a year and a half now. I have just my little chrome bowl (col conk), a Merkur Model 38 HD and a Vulfix 2233 ( it's a bit floppy as they say but I like it for creams.) I am moving to trying out soaps and would like a more sturdy/dense brush. I checked out the Rooney Chubby 1 and 2, and the Vulfix 40 and 41. By checked out I mean the stats. I think the 40 may be best for my hands and be just dense enough.

Any suggestions? I just ordered some soap from Em's Place and a nice little soap bowl with cover. I have an older Col. Conk (lime) I just tried and I liked it.
I want to spend under 130 if possible. I have larger hands so the chubby may be a little uncomfortable.

Any advise? Thanks.

P.S. I tried the search function under reviews but could not find anything useful, except that my brush is not a good soap brush.

As I have posted elsewhere , the Omega Pro 48 is a very good, low priced, boar brush. For badger, I think Vulfix are under appreciated.

Try a Semogue 1305, 2000 or 830.

The Semogue 1305 is a great performer, very good with soaps and creams alike. A bang for the buck at that price tag.

I don't have a lot of experience with different brushes, but I found a great deal on a Muhle silvertip @ Opulence of Southernpines for $60 and love it (the faux tortoise one)! use it with both soap and cream and works great for me. blows the best badger I was using away. but then again, what do I know (other than silvertip rocks!) :001_huh:

I was thinking if a Rooney 1/1 would be better as the loft is smaller and the knot is just as dense.

Ok decision made. Went to Trufit and Hill, got a 1/1 ebony with stand for under 80 with the BB discount. I think I will enjoy it for the upcoming soap fest.

Thanks.
