Broken Gillette tiny rubberset- suggestions?

Hi all. I am the proud (seriously) new owner of a tiny vintage Gillette shaving brush. It has a nice looking knot in it, but the knot is loose, and there is a nice little chunk of the handle that is broken. After speaking with a fellow local B&Ber, and brush making Hobbyist (deruitem) I plan to epoxy the knot in. Let that dry, then scale back and rough the exposed epoxy in the break spot, rough the back of the break piece, and attach the two, probably using CS glue around the edges of the break.

Any recommendations or opinions on my proposed method or other ideas? I would really appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance!

I used 2 part epoxy. I was re-knotting mine and used a little too much force trying to set the loft just a bit deeper. The old Gillettes are fairly brittle.
