Broke my slim.can I save this?

I had my slim in a glass with barbacide in it on the counter and somehow it dropped and the glass suprisingly didnt break. barbicide all over the wood laminate though so I wiped it all up and then grabbed my slim only to find it looking like this. It looks like its just popped up but I was trying to force it down with no luck. Anyone ever experience this? I feel ****ty even though I just got my Fatboy executive in the mail today :S the silo door hooks are above the safety bar if you guys can see that. I tried fixing my regular fatboy once...wasnt a good sight. I am not using a flat head again...guys any suggestions will be much appreciated....dammit I wanted to shave today with this too. Guess the executive is going for its test run.

Hopefully another B&B member will have some tips for you, but you could contact http://razoremporium.com/ and see if there's anything they can do. Their restore video says they do repairs. I haven't personally done business with them.

I'm pretty sure your razor can be saved-- someone more knowledgeable will weigh in soon. In the meantime, my advice is not to send it off to Razor Emporium, at least not until you've read this and several other threads regarding that particular vendor. :scared: Good luck!

That's an easy fix.. The hooked part needs to go back under the head... Just gently coax it back in when it's fully open... Usually it pops out because they are bent out a little and needs to bend back toward the handle to keep it retained under the head

Wow I had not seen that thread before! Thanks for posting that link.

There is a slim chance....errr...I mean a chance for the Slim......:001_smile

As stated above, you should be able to do one end then the other.

I have glasses bending long nose pliers... So the tips are rubber coated... I suppose u can take a regular pair of long nose pliers, file of the teeth, then put heat shrink over the ends to protect the finish

Did you try to lift the door that is high till the lugs drop in the slots, then turn the TTO knob to lower the assembly?
The tree arms would still need leveling.

Please let us all know how it turns out...a fellow Slim owner here which was my Dad's razor, and I'd be distraught if mine broke, so any/all knowledge is great to have...I am ultra careful when using mine, but know that the combo of soapy hands, polished steel, and early morning routines could eventually prove fatal! To ME as well!!

Well I tried it out. The door popped off and I inspected it and now im even more confused. The piece is still bent. I thought it was the door holding it in the lopsided position but its clearly not. Any of you guys have any idea whats going on? Is this thing rip? Again sorry for the sideways photos
