Can anyone give me a model number or approximate date on this set? I think it's mis-matched and should have had a ball end tech in the case but want to double check.
Just bought an identical example - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220623953646&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Can't help on the date - I've bought two fat handle Techs this week (the other is isn a red and white plastic case), the perils of back up bidding on eBay
Well I guess that confirms the razor goes with the case. You got a very good price too.. you stole that razor! lol
I think other bidders were put off by the comparatively high p&p charge.
The second Tech was a few pounds more, but the p&p was less http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110549946989&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Unfortunately that's fairly common. The other listing is the fair price. Unless it's been packed in some rare and exotic materialSurely the seller didn't charge that much p&p for a buyer right there in the same country?

looks like the #77 from this 1948 Ad:
Looking back on this, the handle on mine looks like the one in the No. 44 set in that advert, not the No. 77 set in the advert. The handle on mine has 2 different knurling patterns on it, but the one shown in the No. 77 set doesn't. The handle in the No. 77 set has the same knurling the full length of the handle according to the advert.
