If you have brassing on your razor, it is most likely the bare brass showing through the plating (i.e. the plating is gone). If that is the case, then no polish will help, it will simply polish the brass.

If you wanted to even out the color of the razor, you could either have it replated, or polish the gold/silver/nickel finish off the rest of the razor and have shiny brass.

Its alright to use a razor that has brassing, right? Its just a polish thats worn off, nothing that makes it unusable?

Polish won't help brassing, it's what causes brassing. Vintage razors are made of brass and then plated. Once the plating wears away you are left with brass and nothing will help. I have a couple razors where the plating was nearly gone. I just polished the head until only brass was left and then polished the brass and continued to shave with it.

Yep...just fine to use. Some of my best shaving razors look horrible!
