Bought an ER brush today. Could it be horse?

No pics, so it may be hard to tell.

Its an Everready with a black, fluted handle. Hair is very dark and course, and has almost no "bloom" as in the knot is almost the same size through out.

Appeard almost unused, but I used it, and it worked very well. Not as course feeling as it appears.

I have never seen a horse hair Ever Ready, pics would really help.
What is the number on the bottom/side?

Old, beat-up, worn-out badger or boar can look pretty odd. I'm with Mike...I've never seen nor heard of an Ever-Ready with horse hair. Photos could help, but short of a DNA analysis, are probably not conclusive.
