Bonus vintage Williams score

I've been on a quest to find an Old Spice coffee mug since I saw a beat up one in an antique store a few months ago. Today while digging through a big collection of coffee cups at a flea market I found this near mint specimen for $9, and inside was a barely used puck of vintage Williams soap. Double score!

$9!!!! I'll take it...oh, that's not what you said. I wonder how the soap will be! I swear it used to work just fine till I got to reading about and using other soaps! I sure like the mug though! Ya done good!

It should work great. The one I'm using now came from an antique store and looked like it had survived a house fire, it was filthy. After carefully cleaning the dirt off it performs spectacularly.

Too bad the new williams stinks :p

I have actually been using the new williams just for fun, I used to realy not like it - but I can get a pretty decent lather from it now too, just not my favorite soap for sure.

Great find and really nice mug but an old and used puck of Williams.....no thanks. I only want to try the new formulation!

None of the 10-12 pucks I own have any scent left. It just has a generic scent that I associate with tallow (as my vintage Colgate smells the same, as does my Seaforth, Old Spice, and Century).

I had one rose scented puck that still had scent. The wax-paper advertisement had been wrapped especially tight around it. I'm sad now that I recall selling it. Man I should have used that puck.

I use an Old Spice Mug exactly like that one everyday to soak my badger brush in. I do believe its original use was as a coffee/beverage mug indeed.
