Blended Scotch Whisky

I rotate between Famous Grouse, Grant's, and Ballantine as my inexpensive blends. Black Grouse is very nice as well. I *was* madly and deeply in love with Black Bottle but some heartless soul-eater decided it needed to be reformulated.

I recently picked up Great King Street blend by Compass Box.

For $30, it is crazy good.

Just finished up my bottle of Monkey Shoulder, very nice.

Chivas and JW Black, both are good blends, but I prefer Islay single malts for little more money or American Ryes for little less

I'm not a scotch expert, but my favorite blend I've tried would be Johnny Black. Famous Grouse is a pretty good inexpensive option. Teachers is cheap and just okay. Not a fan of Dewar's.

I just picked up Black Bottle for $17 + tax, to try.

Very similar to the JW Black that I usually drink, but doesn't have the bitter edge that JWB has. I think I actually prefer the Black Bottle, and half the price too!

$40 here as well. Nobody carries it, but one store ordered it in for me.

I pay $26 here.

J&B all the way. My son and I both drink plenty of single malts and other higher end whiskeys, but when it's just either or both of us alone, with no guests to serve, we always pull out the J&B.

And a large whisky soda will look no stronger than a weak one with another brand.
