Blade hits handle when closing

Just starting out with straights. My first purchase was a "shave ready" restore from one of the guys on this site. The blade makes contact with the handle when I try to fold it up...is there a way to repair this? I don't want to bend it in fear of breaking it.

IF your new, dont have a go at fixing it your self, you'll wreck the razor, or your hands.
If plastic it can be heated to align, or you can re pin.
But if you got it off a guy here im sure he will fix it up for you if its a resto job.
Im surprised that it does hit. Be aware of any side ways pressure you may be putting on the blade as you close.
I now always close it slow and watch it go between the scales, so im just in the habit of making it centre if its not going to. But thats for if the are close to one side. If with no side ways pressure they touch, i just fix it.

p.s. dont keep 'checking' if it touches when you close, other wise your toe will be a rough shave compared to the rest of the blade.
