Hi Guys,

Some of you requested some pics of Black Chrome Finish as applied to a Fatboy

Here you go.

The set of three Fatboys are (for comparison):
Top - Bright Nickel
Middle - Black Chrome
Bottom - Rhodium

I didn't think I'd really like it, but it's really quite stunning - difficult to explain but Black can be very reflective.

I like that a lot! Can you/do you replate modern zinc pot-metal razors (eg Merkur 37C)?

Three great looking Fat boys...or is it men? Anyhow the black chrome looks brilliant. It has a kind of wet oil look on my PC monitor screen. very nice. If you had a case for it to to set it off, you wouldnt turn it down regardless of how you shave.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments. To answer a few:

Yes, I'm in good old wet and windy North East England (old England that is, not the nice new version) but many guys in USA send razors over to me.
Black Chrome is added over a new coat of Bright Nickel and costs £35 in total (around $56)
I can plate onto Zinc based razors (like Merkurs etc) so long as the plating is in good condition. All that's needed is to remove the existing Chrome Plating, add a new base coat of Bright Nickel, then the Black Chrome.

The Bright Rhodium is difficult to photograph as it bounces light all over the place and looks much nicer 'in the flesh'
