Birthday present - what is it?

I received a shaving kit from my parents for my birthday. They picked it up at a local antique shop, and thought it was cool so they bought it. Can anyone ID this? There are no marks on anything except for the surrey soap that is still cellophane wrapped. The brush is all wood, and is pretty well chewed up. There is a milk glass bowl inside the holder. I haven't done any cleanup at all yet.

It's a travel kit made by Rubberset, I've seen several of them, sometime with a horse painted. It originaly come with an aluminum handed brush like this one

As banged up as it may or not be that handle is SCREAMING for a TGN Finest knot...

Thanks! I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those brushes. The yellow handle isn't even PIF-worthy, though. I'll call it vintage and put it on the bay. Should go for $50 or so... (Just kidding. It won't go on the bay)
