My friend what you get is an Early Gillette Super Speed with the plating worn off. Whoever did it made it look factory done.
This is he only one I have ever seen and would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this truly one of a kind (but I won't post your questions or comments).
Has a little wear still looks pretty good. I am calling this a Frankenrazor because if I say what it really is, no idiot will buy it.
It will be a nice addition to your home you will be happy with this one I guarantee it I dare you to find another one.

AsylumGuido should be along shortly to shed some light on this razor.

And glasgowgoodies is a bit delusional, though I do have my eye on a couple of his more modestly priced items.

This same razor has come for discussion several times. I am pretty sure it is a 1941 Milord with plate loss. I have one myself, except mine has the nickle knob, as well as the handle. I have seen a handful of others (3 or 4) and feel that they were probably weakly plated. That said, they are extremely rare and very unique ... and I think quite beautiful in its own way.

Here is mine.

Silly question, but what is the difference from the 41 Milord head and the 47 SS without the notch? Oh now I see a spit in the end piece on the Milord and not on the SS.

Looks just like a 1941 Tech Ranger except for the Gold head. Same handle and no end caps alon with the lack of blade assist. Real nice razor you have.

If you look at the groove above the smooth band you might see a hint of gold. My theory is that there were a few of these made that had an issue with the adhesion of the plating.
