Henry, I think that's my favorite of your razors. Does it shave well? What about the handling on the hones and strop?

+1. I'm still a newbie to straights. Is it difficult to shave with a razor like that? Or just a matter of figuring out how to adjust your technique to accomodate the curve in the blade?

Mine wasn't supposed to smile, but does.

Henry, that is a nice looking razor! :001_tt1:

Honing it was a little tricky! Fortunately, the steel is pretty soft so it wasn't too difficult. Just had to go slow.

Stropping it is ... weird ... but it is heavy enough that it stays in contact with the leather. Took a little getting used to shaving with it, but so too does a huge Henckels. More worrisome than the curve is the big, protruding point.

You don't want to catch that on a nostril!

Wow those are some beautiful, satisfied razors! :w00t:

Does the same method for sharpening curved knives work here?

In other words, when I sharpen a curved blade, I lead with the heel, and by the time I get to the end of the stroke the point leads.

So a stroke combined with a movement of the wrist horizontally in other words.

Is this somewhat in the ballpark folks and would this also be the way to strop if it was the correct method?
