Bic does the trick!

I tried one of these out last year in my EJDE89 and it gave me a nasty shave with irritation, nicks and burn.
I put it on the back burner and tonight for some unknown reason I tried it in my Fatip Piccolo and holy cow it delivered a superb shave!
Sorry Bic CP I was wrong and now I love you!

The right blade in the right razor!

Hmmm.... I had the exact same experience with these blades and the DE89. So bad I vowed never to use them again. I love my piccolo, so shall have to dig up the Bics if I still have any and give this a try.

I used them in the DE89 with the same ugly results, and just like you promised myself never to use them again. However, didn't throw them away and as I'm planning on getting a FaTip, maybe I'll give them another go, it wouldn't be the first surprise I had. Glad to hear they finally worked.

The Bic's were the blade I settled on out of my sampler pack when I started DE shaving. Loved em' so much I bought a hundred. Then I discovered the GSB's and now I'm ordering a hundred of those. I have a feeling my blade choices and favorites will continue to evolve as I add additional razors. I don't have anything bad to say about the Bic's. From what I've read on this site, they seem to be a love em' or hate em' blade.

++++++++++++1!!!!!!

I began shaving with an R89. When I tried bics for the first time I enjoyed the comfort of the shave, however it was not a close shave at all. I eventually gave Gillette greens a try as well as Feathers which I settled on and bought a 100 pack.

When I bought my R41 (2013), after 2 months I realized that the Feathers were just beating the crap out of my face. I went back to what was left of my sample pack and gave a Supermax Platinum a try, wasn't impressed. Then I read this thread and decided to give the Bic another go at it. HOLY COW!! What a comfortable/close shave. Today I did my second shave with my Bic loaded R41 and it was the best shave I've had in my life. Feather's are known for their second shave and in my opinion, the Bic was better. The comfort was unbelievable, no nicks, no blood, no burn. The razor cut through my hair like butter without being harsh, and I cold water shave to boot!

What works for me is a conditioner prep in the shower, Nivea preshave scrub with cold water, a splash of Witch Hazel, Truefitt and Hill preshave oil, Castle forbes lavender face lathered up with my M89 Silvertip Badger, WTG XTG ATG touch up passes, finish up with tend skin, a splash of witch hazel, and nivea post shave balm for sensitive skin (tried for the first and really liked it.)

^^^ I just wanted to add that I did a 3rd shave today with my bic blade and that shave was also tremendous. I would've never considered a 3rd shave with a feather in my r41.

Bics work good for me,not great,but good and reliable.Razors do make a difference,I had a few 100 Gillette Silver blues,they would beat the crap out of my face,but once I loaded them into my 1908 Big Boy,eureka !!

While Personna Lab are my absolute favorite blades, personna platinum in white paper wrapper were my second butcher after gillette yellows(in a de89).
But guess what, ever since I got my futur, they instantly became 4th in top, after personna lab, perma sharps and iridiums.
Also, gillette blacks were top 3 but not anymore since I changed to futur.
So ye YMMVRB aka your mileage may vary razor based.
