Best Shave Ever This Morning

This morning I had what I believe was my best shave ever.

I'm not sure exactly what made it the best.

My prep was the same as always...a hot shower.

I pulled out my Old Type Open Comb, which I hadn't used in a while.

My soap was a mixture of several remnants of Stirling and a sliver of Mke's Pine and Cedarwood all molded together.

I whipped up a lather with my Omega 49 and shaved away.

At the end was rewarded with a BBS and just about zero irritation.

I finished up with Master Well Comb Bay Rum.

Very nice.

I hope I can replicate it.

Always great to get that irritation free smooth shave, that open comb helped in closeness for sure. Hope you can replicate it as well, odd soap combo will be hard to do that but always good possibilities out there. I am hoping to catch a shave tonight since I was unable last night due to a few factors unforeseen, a bit on the scruffy side today lol.

I'm not bothering to try and replicate the soap combo. I don't think that was the key anyway.

I think maybe I got my lather dialed in just right.

Isn't it interesting how sometimes everything just aligns and the result is an exceptionally good shave? I, too, used a Gillette Old Type this morning and was rewarded with a near BBS shave.
