Best Razor For Beginner With These Circumstances

Hello everyone! I have been lurking in the shadows soaking up knowledge for a while now. I recently received a Van Der Hagen luxury shave set as a gift from my dad and then burned the rest of my budget (very tight as my medicine is so expensive these days) at on Shave Secret oil, Proraso pre-shave cream, and Proraso aftershave. These products have given me a better shave than I could ever have imagined, despite using a cheap disposables. I really want to get into DE shaving and just want to know what you guys would recommend to a new guy and where you would buy it. I plan on starting to save up as soon as possible so I can join the ranks of this awesome community. I have slightly sensitive skin and a medium/light beard. I have almost everything but the razor (I think?) Any suggestion appreciated.

Vintage: 3 piece - Gillette Tech (any of them work well)
Twist to Open - Gillette Flare tip (any of them work well)
Current: Edwin Jagger DE89 (or other Edwin Jagger Variety)

Welcome to the forum. Im fairly new as well and have experimented with a number of razors, though they have all been vintage. To satisfy your budget limitations I would suggest either a Gillette Tech or Super Speed, both are fairly mild. I started with a Tech and it is still a favorite. These can be found easily on the "bay" and a decent example is rather affordable or look in the B/S/T section of the forum, this is good place to pick up a razor as defects will be noted appropriately. Vintage razors may require some cleaning but it is easy and there are many threads here that explain the process. You will need some DE blades as well, probably look into a sampler until you settle on some blades you like.

Huge EJ DE89 fan here. I even prefer it to my 40's Superspeeds.

It sounds like I'll have all the equipment needed for an epic shave, thanks for the Gillette Tech and Superspeed.

Welcome aboard, Sounds like one or more of our fellow members are hooking you up with some hardware ? Lots of awesome guys here )

What an amazingly generous group of folks we have here. Glad you've got a couple of great vintage Gillettes coming your way.

Big thanks to the other B&B members who jumped in to help out a newbie in need.

Looks like you're set up. Otherwise I would have suggested a Fat Handle Tech, or 40s Super Speed. Both excellent beginner razors in my opinion.

gillette fat boy set on 4/ superspeed/adjustable slim/tech 1930 or near/.some good choices.
