What's new

best non-tallow soaps out there.

any recommendations? I have only recently ventured into the soapy side of this and I need your recommendations regarding what is the best option you would suggest? I use the MDC and absolutely without a doubt love it.....soooo....anything like that out there?
Thanks...

My non-tallow favs are Klar Kabinett (recently discontinued) and various Calani soaps. I also like TOBS traditional a lot.

3P is very similar to MdC, IMHO, but much less expensive. And no tallow. Klar Kabinett, which has been discontinued is tallow-free as are all of the Klar shaving soaps.

Any soap from Saint Charles Shave (I couldn't believe it when I found out there did not have tallow).
Any soap from Honeybee Soaps
Valobra soft soap (almond or menthol) performs exactly like Cella, but no tallow.

Valobra soft soap is my favorite (nice and slick).

Others to try:

RazoRock's karite line
The tragically-discontinued Klar Kabinett
I Coloniali
Institut Karite
RazoRock Muguet de France
Martin de Candre
RazoRock's Famiglia line
La Toja stick
Castle Forbes cream (it's like a soft soap)

I don't adore all of those, but they're worth trying.

I don't care for most of the veggie soaps I've tried, but I do like the SRD and Ogallala glycerin based soaps. I find SRD the easiest of any soap to lather with my well water and I love the clovey bay rum scent of Ogallala.

I've been using Klar Seifen Klassic quite a bit lately. It's a very good veg soap, IMO. Another I like is Tabula Rasa but it's more of a soft soap.

I would add Haslinger Aloe (or other non-tallow varieties), Gold Dachs Speziel and Osma. These are the top 3 of the few I currently stock. They don't get much love on the forum but very high quality and can occasionally be found on sale.

I'm waiting on some Klar Kabinett and some Speick Stick since I really like their cream and splash. Wanting to try some others like classic Palmolive, La Toja, Lea and others from Spain, etc.
