Best Lilac?

I've read that quite a few hate the fragrance/aroma/odor of Clubman's Lilac Vegetal.

Any recommendations for lilac AS and shaving soap/cream?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

New convert to the Pinaud here. Nice stuff. Try the KMF lavender and shea butter SC, good stuff, slicker than snot!

Pinaud.:tongue_sm

I was rockin' it today at work. No comments, but I liked it.

Same here. I don't understand its bad press. It's ususual, but that's one of the reasons to like it. You smell like a lilac flowers, plant, maybe even some loam. If that appeals to you, you'll love it. If not, you'll be in the dissident camp.

I like Pinaud, but Boosters does a very nice Lilac. None of the "vegetal funk" the Pinaud has. I still need to track down some Masters to try.
Another vote for Mama Bears Lilac Ice. I get mostly menthol off the puck, but once lathered the lilac really comes out.

OV1Kenobi --- as in Grumman OV-1 Mohawk?

Yessir. As in Grumman OV-1 Mohawk. Specifically, the "D" version.

I did some time in the U.S. Army as a right-seater in those planes. Best duty I ever had, all things considered.

Permission to use the photo for my avatar? Granted, by the O.D. Green paint scheme it looks like a Vietnam War era "B" or "C" variant. I flew in the "Grey Ghosts" during the Contra Troubles in El Salvador and Honduras in the 1980's.

An absolutely dirty, rotten little war that hardly anyone remembers, much less cares about. Still, at the time, one hell of a better deal than that of a Cavalry Scout, of which I was one in a prior enlistment.

Damn! Someone actually put it all together?

You are the lucky winner!

PM me with your shipping info and I'll send you some DE blades (Derby Extra or white-box Isreali Personna) or a puck of now discontinued C&E Sweet Almond Oil shaving soap gratis, once I dig it out of my linen closet.

Let me know of your preference.

Regards,

David

David,

I'm a Black Hawk guy. Used to be a CE on UH-1s 20+ years ago. I've got a couple of very good friends who used to Mohawk guys; one we was a TO before he went to flight school and another who was one of the last Instructor Pilots to serve in an active Hawk unit.

Thanks for the thought of the PIF but I'm set with lots of stuff and some great PIFs already. I've vowed to never apply for or accept another PIF but rather that they go to a young beginner Active Duty soldier.

Take look at the Veteran's Roll Call and the Veteran's/Active Duty Raffle pages.

You're welcome to use the photo as your avatar. But take a look at http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=OV-1+Mohawk&gbv=2&aq=f&oq= which is the search I used to find it.

Welcome

I quite like Booster's Lilac; the scent doesn't last a long time (it's an aftershave after all) but that can be a good thing. I've been meaning to try to pair it with Mama Bear's iced lilac soap! I love the scent of lilac.
