Behmore 1600 Roasting Question

I had a little leftover green coffee (2 oz), and didn't want to mix it with another batch. I said "what the heck" and thew it in the roaster at 1/4 lb setting at p3 at max time, and figured I'd burn the heck out of it or possibly a dark french roast. Funny thing is, I couldn't get past a full city, where I normally get a city to city+.

Should I now trick the system, when roasting at p3, by increasing the weight of the roast to get a darker roast?
 
Interestingly enough, the more coffee, the hotter/faster the roast. I'm assuming this is due to the additional mass retaining heat during the roast.
