What's new

Been using my electric a lot lately

Over the past few weeks I've found myself more than once dawdling too much in the morning and then grabbing my electric for a quick shave in the car on the way to work. I feel a bit dirty for it.

You can always change to a night time shaver. I shave at night because I have to get up way to early to shave in the morning.

The fact that you "feel dirty" shows you have the unconscious desire to return to the superior world of wetshaving. Sadly, you may need to reach bottom before the shame and self-loathing drive you back to the warm embrace of freshly whipped up lather. We'll keep a light on for you, man. Come home soon.

how bout a wee scott brush...injector and mug n soap shave in the car...you can always clean everything in the work bathroom...:)

go to bed earlier and get up earlier! once your in a routine of it there will be no more morning dawdling and it will be easy :cornut:

For some reason the song "sacrilege" comes to mind.......

"You dirty rat"

Naw... What ever works to keep clean shaven for work.

I got an electric for xmas (a long long time ago) and I did use it for a while (can't remember what it was as it has been a few decades). I know what you mean about not having enough time. Luckily "going to work" for me is walking down the stairs to my office. Funny I never seem to be late to work and always have time to shave, even in the middle of the day :001_smile

I work two jobs and volunteer. I'm always on the run. I agree, wake up a bit earlier.
I started improving in my shave routine in terms of time but then disregarded some of the enjoyment. A moment of reflection and extending my shave helps clear the mind and get me started to a bright day full of mindfulness and an open mind. seriously

now that is something to admire. working from home. I did it for some time when I lived in NJ and actually craved the company of coworkers and my creative boss (a needle in a haystack, R.I.P.). I worked in Insurance so industry talk was always helpful.

I must say that on the plus side my daughter had just been born and I got to spend 8 months watching her grow before my eyes. I'll always have those memories.
congrats

This is exactly what I do. Shaving at night is way more relaxing and lets you take as much time as you need to yourself. You don't have to worry about anything rushing you.

I was away from home recently and TRIED going back to electric while on the road and remembered why I hated it so much. The "burn", smell, pulling, heat build up of the electric, and took comparatively the same amount of time (15 minutes) to finish as I would have de shaving. It sucked!

I'm surprised. Wet shaving only costs you a few minutes more, and is so much better for your skin. And a more pleasant experience.

If you're really in a hurry in the mornings, you could always use a Trac II / Atra / Sensor (any other twin blade razor) to shave. A single pass would make you at least as presentable as an electric shave, I would think.

I can usually get a pretty decent shave from a Schick Injector if I'm in a rush, it's almost comparable in speed to a cart, but still with the pleasure of a single sharp blade, face lather to save time as well. But like others here, I predominantly shave at night after showering so I can indulge with no time restraints.

Good luck. I do agree if getting up earlier doesn't work, shave in the evening. It sounds like subconsciously you want to go back to wet shaving.

Aside from the sin of using an electric, shaving while driving, really? How irresponsible to drive a 2500# projectile and endanger other peoples lives because you're lazy. Using an electric is nothing compared to reckless endangerment of people who are just living their lives. End of rant.

Yes, be careful if you shave 'n drive.
Other than that, do whatever works.

After moving to a new place with a longer commute, my morning time is very limited
and I've gone brushless. That extra couple of minutes means a lot these days.
