I recently picked this one up. I have to say when I first apply it, it has an almost overpowering alcohol scent. It actually does die down to a pretty pleasant fig and nutmeg smell, but those first few minutes - whew! Any one else try this and notice the alcohol scent?

I had a sample of it in a vial, and so I never spayed it on. when I applied it from the sample vial I thought the smell was pretty much pleasant from the get-go.
I have the same experience as Kingfisher. Recently acquired a sample vial. Applied from the vial to my skin I got pretty much immediately a gourmand scent of fresh figs and nutmeg. Not much evolution as it dried down but I did like it quite a bit. I'm working my way through a bunch of samples right now but this is definitely on my list to consider purchasing.
It is a really nice scent, isn't it. However, I too have only applied it from the sample vial. I've never experienced an initial alcohol blast.

Hmmm, maybe I need to shake the bottle before I apply next time. SWMBO thought there was a strong alcohol smell at first also. I do really like it once that passes.
I bought it today myself after trying a sampler. I didn't know shaking a cologne would help, but regardless, I had the same experience as JPM.
