Bargain or crazy??

Honestly, if you stick around B&B for a while you can pick up a *clean* fatboy for somewhere around that.

'Looks like he dredged the harbor for that one.

Kind of a crazy bargain . . . :tongue_sm

I was just reading a post in the General Discussion telling of a Fattie picked up for $12 at a local shop that just needs cleaning. I myself have one that I am cleaning tomorrow and paid WAY less than this one!!

This is one of the more distressed razors that I have ever seen go for that much $$. I hope the sniper finds a treasure under the crud!

Wait a minute . . . did this one come from Argentina??:lol::lol:

$30 is not TOO bad of a price and if it cleans up nice, would be worth it.

At least the seller seems honest:
I don't clean any of my items before selling - to avoid doing any harm.

I might get more for these items if they looked nice and clean -

but I figure you collectors know what is what.

There were no bids at all on this until Yesterday, where it sat at $1.99 for ages, I even inquired about postage thinking that I might get it shipped all in for less than $10. But he wanted $30 for postage to Ireland! It looks like it has a bit of promise, no evident brassing, but then again hard to tell with all the manure covering it!!

Rotten case, but the razor just looks like it has been neglected and probably will be first class with a good clean and polish.
If that's true, then I'd say that it is worth the price easily.

I got one that was uglier than that.It had a blade in it and packed in whiskers under the blade. It cleaned up beautifully.

In all the verdegris I've cleaned off razors it seems there is brass underneath (plating gone) but if the mechanics are okay it will be a good shaver - save the beauties for the shelf:001_smile

honestly it just looks like a lot of soap scum. it will probably look drastically better after a short scrub w/ the bubbles.

Someone is going to be busy with that one. Get the pressure cooker ready! Look at the crud on that razor! Maybe someone will work wonders with the vintage razor.:w00t:

I use a shark steamer to blast the cosmolene off of old rifles. It's got a nice long hose on it and a long cord. Very convenient. Used it to clean my first fatboy. Took awhile, but the results were good. The steamer is especially good at those hard-to reach areas and little nooks & crannies in the mechansims.
