I picked up a Barbasol Floating Head that the previous owner had replated by a vendor with a now less than stellar rep. Unfortunately, the replate was poorly done. The previous owner had such a hard time just getting the razor back that he probably wasn't sure that he would get it back if he sent it to the vendor again. I think he no longer wanted any part of it. I thought I'd take a chance b/c the seller seemed honest and was offering a decent deal on it.
When I received it, the razor was as the owner described - the new finish was peeling of under the top cap and it was only a matter of time before the entire razor was in a similar state. Not to mention that it was pretty scuffed up as well.
I contacted Sam, sent him some pics and he said he was willing to give it a shot. So off it went down to SoCal to be exorcised and visit the fountain of youth.
I wasn't hoping to transform the razor into a display piece. Rather I wanted a shaver that would last and not be an eye sore sitting the den. I'm stoked on what Sam sent back to me. It's better than I hoped. Thanks Sam!
