Badger Semogue / Omega

How do these Badger brushes compare to others guys. I've seem both brands do a silver tip, best and pure badger. I've only tried the boars and they seem really good to me. I've several other brands of badger and was wanting to try a silver tip but with out the big bucks. Any info appreciated.

i have had a few Semogues and they are very nice brushes. You could also consider TGN or Frank Shaving brushes which i have heard good things about. Good luck.

+1. I have heard mixed reviews on these brushes. For about $60 you can customize your own brush at TGN (the Golden Nib). I just received mine today, and did some test palm lathers. It is not second rate at all. Do your Badger & Blade research to see what most TGNers think is the best. I did this and got a 24 mm 2-band Finest Badger Knot XH (~$30) with a $20 acrylic handle. It rivals what I've seen from other big brush makers. Oh, $10 for assembling any knot and handle.

In regards to "affordable" nice badgers...I've been a pretty big fan of the Semogue SOC; it's a very solid choice at its price point. I also agree that the TGN knots are very nice as well. In my case, I had Rudy Vey do a custom for me that actually turned out to be a 32/55 with a custom wooden handle. I have no regrets on either of them - they are both great brushes. I've recently been reviewing a synthetic brush that for $27, is probably worth your consideration as well. At least on my face, it outperforms the Semogue SOC...which is no small thing for a cheap synthetic.

Guys thanks.

Samjax I've been reading your synth journey and took the plunge a few weeks back and got the 26mm FS with horn chubby handle. It was going to be just for travel but it has excelled in every way. I'm not a great fan of long handles and prefer chubby style. I was thinking of going with a FS 26mm silver tip in white as my BIrthday is comming up. But was curious about others in the same price point. Off to chack TGN as I'd forgotten about them.
