Back From Basic

HEY B&B!!! I am back from Army Basic Combat Training. And I wouldnt be a proper soldier without using atleast one accronym... So BCT was interesting but I am glad to be shaving the right way again. I couldn't shave well in basic because they dont trust privates to have VERY lethal tools. Except rifles that is.:001_huh: But now Im straight shaving in the barracks and other soldiers are totally amazed by this "hollywood" shaving stuff. I plan on sending several new "recruits" to B&B in the coming months. Many of you dont know me but I was an avid poster here and had quite a hand with a straight before I left six months ago. But now that Im back I hope to get to know you all here once again. Untill then!:biggrin1:

Congrats on making it through "Basic", it's quite an accomplishment! I went through at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri in 1986, where did you go? Take care and thanks for your service!

Thanks all, for the hardy welcome back. And I did go through "Ft. Lost in the Woods". As far as the thanks go, I do appreciate it but I havn't served yet... soon but not yet. Glad to see plenty other active personnel on here. And all you veterans lurking out there, I thank you for going ahead of me and passing the torch. I'll carry it with pride.

Oh, and I dont know who threw that badge up there for me, but thanks.:biggrin1: I didn't even know to ask for it, but there it was when I logged on.

Good work Soldier! Where's your AIT?

I was stationed at Leonard Wood for a while. Working in the hospital I always felt so bad for the patients that were brought in from basic. We were all in scrubs, and if you couldn't read our clip on badge, they didn't know if the person that was walking towards them was a private, a captain or anything in between!

I was in that CTMC once. And it was difficult to be in proper form there. But most of the officers and NCOs were pretty level about a breach in ettiquet if your eyes were rolling into the back of your head and you looked near rabbid. I'm now at Ft. Huachuca AZ. I like it much better here. The southwest is really more my scene. FLW Misery is not a very comfortable place to live when compared to the SW US. In my opinion.

Congrats for finishing basic & here's to 19 1/2 more years! I too suffered through that miserable armpit late summer of '93.
I was one of the 2 a day shavers, though I think I shouldn't have been. I think it was because I shaved my head the night before we started. Private Personality, Private Cue Ball, Private Mr. Clean, Private too cheap to pay for a damn $3 haircut, & a few others I can't repeat!
Thank you for your future service to our country, sir!
