I got an email about 10 days ago saying I'd been targeted by the B&B Sniper Team to thank me for my participation on the B&B forum. A snippet from the email:
"Congratulations! Your participation and overall presence on B&B has caught the attention of the Sniper Team. We appreciate members like you who show the qualities that are part of what makes this forum such a great place. Our mission is to let members like yourself know that they are greatly appreciated. We are not content to offer this recognition based on a random number generator, you have been selected based upon your actions on our forum. Just PM us your address, and your reward will be sent directly. We would expect you to post about your selection/reward in a thread of your choice. Thank you for helping make B&B a beacon in the fog of internet forums, your participation here is truly welcomed!"
Today I indeed received, via the USPS, a package that I know I didn't order - curiously I opened it up and inside was a bottle of Noodler's "Benevolent Badger Blue" ink from WCS (one of the Noodler's Badger and Blade inks)!!!! I suddenly remembered the Sniper email and thought to myself that it was super cool of the snipers to send this as a token of appreciation, as I HAVE indeed gotten the Fountain pen/ink bug recently - so these Snipers have shown they are not only watching our contributions, but are also keeping their eyes open to where our individual interests lie....this gift was simply perfect, thank you again!
So, the sniper team is real and they are watching and paying attention!! I'm still not sure what I've done to deserve the recognition/snipe, tho I've learned over the years to never to look a gift horse in the mouth. I was, and still am, humbled by this and wanted to extend my thanks to the sniper team (whomever you are), as well as the moderators and stewards who work so hard to keep B&B such a wonderful place -it truly is a beacon of light in the fog of internet forums - and also to extend my thanks to all of the other members B&B who on a daily basis show and share their generosity, intellect, experience, wisdom, passion, friendship, selflessness, bacon and more.... B&B wouldn't be the same without you, and you never know, you may be sniped next!!!
B&B, and the incredible folks here, have really helped get me through a rough summer ... My full gratitude just can't be captured by words... and to have someone recognize my own tiny contribution to this wonderful forum that I love really puts a smile on my face.
