I was looking online for pen-pal programs a while back and I realized that it's very difficult to find one that uses pen and paper media instead of e-mails. This seems like the kind of place to get this started. This will be a free service to all, if started. I thought I'd post here to see if enough people were interested. Please use the poll buttons to show your interest.

Mods, I read through the rules and I don't think I broke any rules, but please let me know if I have and I'll change what needs to be changed or cancel the whole thing altogether.

we have a group of guys into the whole writing thing Bread, if you PM brianW he will invite you in, then you just go thru the list of members PM people you think you would like to exchange with and Bobs your uncle

although if you want to get started right away i can PM my address to you , you can write and ill write you back for sure

Anything James can do, I can do be...just the same. You can PM me your address or the other way around and we can exchange letters. Its a fun time (especially with James!)

Yes there is a letter exchange group.
It's fun. I just wish I had time to write more.
Maybe that will be my 2013 resolution.

+1

My New Years resolution is to catch up on all the letters that I owe to people in the Letter Exchange, and anyone else that wants to join in on the fun.

I think this is a fantastic idea and I'm certainly interested. Would typewritten (as in written on a typewriter) letters be ok? If not, I'll wait until my penmanship is up to snuff.

I'll work on my penmanship and source some finer paper than I currently have . . . I'm often picking up old postcards. I'd love to send those out to some of you gents, even if the messages are brief.

Rebos, these letters are the perfect way to practice your writing skills. It's fun to see things evolve and change. I wouldn't worry unless it's totally illegible, and then just send the typewritten translation!:scared::a47::a6:

Wonderful. I'll pop back in once I have a nice pen. In the meanwhile I had better seriously practice my cursive. :001_smile

Do you need to actually have something to write about? I think the only letters I've written in my life that weren't for business was one we had to write to ourselves in 7th grade. The teacher held them for 10 years and then mailed them out.

Everybody has something to write about, PFP_Dad. OK . . . I'll think about qualifying that later . . .

I want to hear that story!

ohh I like it! Might as well put one of my many ADs to work... well many of them do already but nothing like getting another one to be productive!

This is one of those things I'd really like to get involved in, but I have so much going on that I have nothing going on... if you get my meaning... I wouldn't know what to write about. I also have atrocious handwriting, although working with the italic B&B Essentials I got has changed that a bit. I have to take more time while getting used to the angle I have to hold the pen at.

Letters are easy Shane, first one out just write some stuff about yourself . How old you are, if your single or married, what you do for work, that kind of thing, this time of year makes it east cause you can include what you did for holidays, and there is always writing about what brought you to B &B, then as people write back it strikes up conversation, you get curious about things you readband ask and answer questions

It all starts with one letter... it falls into place after that

Write about how you started wetshaving, what you use, what you like and don't like, ink, pens, coffee, tes, cigars, cocktails, suits, shoes....you get the picture. Whatever comes to mind. After a while, if you feel comfortable with you it you can exchange more personal info.
