Have you ever smoked a pipe while driving and enjoyed it so much you almost forgot where you were going?

This morning I was smoking on my way to work savoring the frog again. I got to thinking and day dreaming I guess and almost missed my exit. If it wasn't for auto pilot kicking in I would have made the wrong turn. Oh well it was a good smoke.

I don't smoke, but I've made entire trips in the car with no recollection of the drive. It's amazing how your brain can go off deep into a daydream but still function at the unconscious level enough to still perform daily tasks.

Your post was timely in that I had the exact same thought this morning shaving .... my mind was absorbed thinking about a crazy project at work and before I knew it I was done with my shave with minimal recollection of the experience. The brain is a puzzle.

I do it all the time, but I live in the flatlands, so I basically have one street to drive down to get to work and back.

yeah, I have three interstates and a 22 mile commute that gives me plenty of time to get lost in thought.

My friend Dan and I were going to a concert in Cincinnati, and we were driving north on interstate 75 in Kentucky. In Lexington, I-75 and I-64 merge for about 10 miles. Dan got a business call, and I was taking notes as he was driving. We were halfway to Louisville before we realized we were on the wrong interstate. Sadly, no fine tobacco was involved, just the Camel Crushes that we both smoked at the time.
